EFL Theatre Tribe
The EFL Theatre Tribe is one of the flagship programs of the EFL Conclave. The inception of the Theatre Tribe began with a yearning and passion by a few likeminded research scholars of the Department of English and Foreign Languages. The debut play, “Waiting for Durga Maa” premiered on 5th March 2023 as a part of Women’s Day Celebration of SRM Institute of Science and Technology. It is a feminist interpretation and adaptation of the classic Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett. The play resonated well with the audience as they were able to connect to the actors on the stage. The second play was staged for the 4th International Conference on Deconstructing Identities titled ‘Monologues of Love,’ on the 19th of April 2023. It was a symphony of voices, each a testament to the boundless nature of love. From the melancholic whispers of unrequited love to the radiant joy of queer love, each monologue painted a vivid picture of the human heart in all its vulnerability and strength. The EFL Theatre Tribe is more than just a group of performers; it’s a testament to the enduring power of storytelling. One play at a time, the EFL Theatre Tribe reminds us that theatre is not just about entertainment; it’s a mirror reflecting our own stories, a platform for challenging narratives, and ultimately, a celebration of the human spirit in all its vibrant diversity.

EFL Research colloquium
English Research Colloquium was formed, with Dr.M.M.Uma Maheswari, as the convener. Its objective was to provide the research scholars a platform to share their understanding of their proposed research process. The Colloquium was inaugurated on 7/6/2022 with the aim of achieving the following outcomes: Research Scholars hone their presentation skills; they develop the skill of keen observation through the discussions on the topic presented; they learn to practice the approach of being open to criticism and improvising through feedback; they gain knowledge and be familiar with other perspectives and varied points of view. Later in 2023 ERC became a part of EFL conclave and has organized research meets to cultivate research interest among the research scholars.
